This Painting
is on my front page, it's called "Central Park". It's painted in oils on linen canvas. It is one of my husbands favorites. A simple black on white picture.
This picture is called Poinciana..
I painted it because the poinciana trees in Key West made a big impression on me, even though I was only five or six at the time.
You can tell in this painting
I still favor tropical locations. Though my allergies won't allow me to live there. The sight of bougainvillea or jacaranda make me homesick. "Lagoon" oil on canvas board.
I do however
love desert scenes too. I painted this after seeing Clive Cussler's "Sahara" at the movies. Aptly named "Sahara". Oil on canvas board.
This painting was done from a photograph for my son Byron and his wife Amanda. It's called Sunset, Flye Island. It's in Maine. Oil on linen.
One of my favorite painting instructors was Bob Ross. This painting
is my take on one of his techniques. It's called "From the Mouth of Heaven" The under painting is acrylic on canvas board, the painting progresses with oils.
Several years ago, a friend of mine died in Utah. This painting was done after that.
It is oil on wood. I call this Monument Valley. The colors down in the deserts of the southwest facinate me. Some day I would like to spend time with camera, brushes and paints; to see what I can capture.
I saw this in a book on deserts. I did this with oil pastels before I ever started painting with grown up...oils. This is Shiprock.
These are not all of my paintings, there are many, many more. These are just a few. A rendering so you can get a glimpse of my mind.
